Our Services

Individual Therapy: Evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, and family-of-origin patterns. Kara uses attachment-informed approaches tailored to your specific needs. Most clients find 8–15 sessions helpful.

Couples Therapy: Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), one of the most research-backed approaches to relationship repair. Couples learn to identify their cycle of disconnection, explore deeper emotional needs, and build safer ways to reach for each other.

Circle of Security Parenting Program: A 4-week group program based on decades of attachment research, designed to help parents of children aged 0–5 understand their child’s emotional needs and build a secure attachment foundation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment with Alongside Psychology?

You can book online through the website at alongsidepsychology.com.au/booking or contact admin@alongsidepsychology.com.au.

Does Alongside Psychology accept Medicare?

Yes. Individual therapy sessions are eligible for Medicare rebates under the Better Access Initiative. You’ll need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. Couples therapy is not currently covered by Medicare but may be claimable through private health insurance.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Research consistently shows that online therapy (telehealth) is as effective as in-person therapy for anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. Online sessions also remove barriers like travel time, childcare, and geographic limitations.

What areas does Alongside Psychology service?

Alongside Psychology provides online therapy to clients across all of Australia, as well as internationally (except the US).
